Limehouse Lizzy are live at the Railway, Ipswich on their 2013 tour, playing the greatest hits of Phil Lynott & Thin Lizzy. Full details at: www.limehouselizzy.com
Limehouse Lizzy are officially one of the hardest working bands in the UK. They were accredited for their live shows by the Performing Rights Society in December 2011 and received their certificate from PRS Chairman (and respected songwriter) Guy Fletcher OBE.
Renowned for an action-packed pyrothechnic-fuelled explosion of a show, Limehouse Lizzy continue to keep the spirit of Celtic rock icon Philip Lynott and his band Thin Lizzy alive, well and dominating stages worldwide. The band have also added a tribute into their show to ex-Thin Lizzy guitarist (and world renowned solo artist) Gary Moore who sadly passed away last year.
Attention to detail, playful audience interaction and that all important X-factor that leaves you with the feeling of witnessing the real thing have led to their performance being described as “beyond tribute”, by both audience and critics alike.

NAZARETH - £17:50 adv / £20:00 otd
£17:50 adv / £20:00 otd
Tuesday 19th March
Nazareth are one of the UK’s finest ever classic rock bands. The band are perhaps best known for their breakthrough albums, ‘Razamanazz’ and ‘Loud n Proud’- (both 1973) and their chart-storming singles, ‘Bad Bad Boy’, ‘Broken Down Angel’ , ‘Love Hurts’, ‘My White Bicycle’ and their remarkable adaptation of Joni Mitchell’s ‘This Flight Tonight’. Since then the band have released a steady stream of top-notch albums and retained a steadfast, almost rabid fan base across the world.
Nazareth has sold an impressive over 60 million records in their 40 year music career worldwide for which they count as one of the best known and most successful Scottish bands ever. On their new album ‘Big Dogz’, they have returned to their roots, pure rock music with its rough edges, like it’s straight from the ‘70s. Exactly how rock should sound – and that’s how Nazareth lays it down.
An excellent overview of the bands career is the current sumptuous 4-cd Salvo/Union Square Music release, ‘NAZ BOX’
Said NAZARETH founder member Pete Agnew:Our friends at earMUSIC offered us the opportunity to mark some new territory with this new album and the 'Nazhounds' are delighted to be back among their pack. We're straining at the leash to tour this puppy. We reckon it's bitchin'! So get ready, because from 10th March, the Big Dogz gonna howl!!"
Formed in 1968, Nazareth sprung from the ashes of a semi-professional local band, ‘The Shadettes’, eventually taking their name from the opening line from ‘The Weight’ - the classic song by The Band. Releasing their first album in 1971, the band still features the gravel-voiced DAN McCAFFERTY and bassist PETE AGNEW, alongside lead guitarist JIMMY MURRISON and LEE AGNEW who has more recently taken over the drum stool for so long occupied by the sadly departed DARRELL SWEET.
For their 40th anniversary, Naz decided to record a come-back album. earMUSIC released ‘The Newz’ in 2008, proving once again that Nazareth is fully committed to rock and always satisfy with great songwriting and a fresh sound. The contemporary production brilliantly held true to their roots and really emphasize the extraordinary voice of Dan McCafferty.
‘Big Dogz’ was recorded in Prague and mixed in Basel, produced by guitar player Jimmy Murrison and young Swiss sound-wizard Yann Rouiller, the album has a challenging approach to production. In contrast with rock music’s current tendency to be clean and overproduced in order to be perfect and easily consumed, Nazareth´s album focuses on capturing the dangerous and challenging edge that rock music should have, too often lost in the chase for perfection. For this reason, Nazareth have always truly concentrated on bringing out that dirty, challenging, edginess of real rock; that sound that rock music must have.
Nazareth really manages to be different. On the new album, you’ll find what the band has always portrayed: four guys who live rock, who record together in the same room to show who they really are and what they want.
‘Big Dogz’ is a pure rock diamond, one that is sure to become one of the highest points of their grandiose career and follow the success of past albums like ‘No Mean City’ and ‘Hair Of The Dog’.
Founding member Pete Agnew says: "They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks, but having recorded the new album 'Big Dogz' I don't agree. We've got some tasty bones here!”

ULI JON ROTH of THE SCORPIONS
Sat 23rd March
£10 adv/£12 otd
In the early 1970s, Roth formed a band called Dawn Road. In 1973, guitarist Michael Schenker left the Scorpions to join UFO. The two remaining Scorpions members, Rudolf Schenker and Klaus Meine merged with the four members of Dawn Road, (Uli Jon Roth, Achim Kirschning, Francis Buchholz, Jürgen Rosenthal) using the name Scorpions as they were more well known than Dawn Road.
During his tenure as lead guitarist, main songwriter and occasional lead singer for the Scorpions, the band released four studio albums between 1974 and 1977. In 1978, the Scorpions released the live album Tokyo Tapes, which was recorded in Japan and sold nearly one million copies and went gold in several countries. However, Roth had left the band before the album’s release.
Roth formed his own band named Electric Sun which released three albums. The first, Earthquake (1979), was dedicated to the spirit of Jimi Hendrix. A second album released two years later, Fire Wind (1981), was dedicated to Anwar el-Sadat (the assassinated President of Egypt who had tried to make peace in the Middle East), and featured a song called "Enola Gay" about the atomic bombing of Japan.
In 1985, Roth released his third and final Electric Sun album, Beyond the Astral Skies, dedicated to Martin Luther King and to Roth's fans.
After Electric Sun, Roth entered a new phase of creative work, composing four symphonies and two concertos, and sometimes performing with symphony orchestras throughout Europe. Roth used the name ‘Uli Jon Roth’ for all subsequent album releases and concert appearances.
The G3 European tour of 1998 featured Roth playing with Joe Satriani and Michael Schenker. The tour show at London Wembley Arena also featured a jam with Brian May.
Roth played at the outdoor rock festival at Castle Donington in 2001 (also featuring original Scorpions lead guitarist Michael Schenker on the bill), and this was filmed and subsequently released on DVD.
Roth appeared in concert with the Scorpions onstage at the Wacken Open Air Festival in 2006 along with two other former members of the band. Billed as “A Night To Remember, A Journey Through Time”, the Scorpions played four songs from the Roth era, most of which they hadn’t played live since Roth had left in 1978. The concert was filmed and released on DVD.
Although this was meant to be a ‘one night only’ special event, its success meant that the format was repeated on several tours afterwards.
On 2 June 2007 at the Rock am Ring festival in Germany, Roth joined The Smashing Pumpkins on stage for their epic closing song "Gossamer". He made another appearance with the Pumpkins upon their return to Germany on 26 February 2008.
In 2007, Roth had begun working on a new full-length studio album, which was to be released the following year. The title of the album would be "Under A Dark Sky" and was going to be the first official release in the long-awaited series of Symphonic Legends - a cycle of music written by Uli for his all-encompassing Sky of Avalon project.
Roth first debuted songs from "Under A Dark Sky" on 18 July 2008 in his headline set at the G-TARanaki Guitar Festival in New Zealand, Roth's debut concert in the country. In the week previous Roth had taken his "Sky Academy" tuition classes to regional Taranaki towns in Waitara, Inglewood and Opunake with guests Vernon Reid and Gilby Clarke.
"Under A Dark Sky" was released in Japan on 20 August 2008 via Marquee records. The European and USA releases followed a month later on 20 September 2008 on the SPV record label.
The DUALERS
£10
Sat 30th March
In October 2004 The Dualers launched themselves, unannounced, into the UK Singles Chart, landing at an impressive number 21 with self-penned song, Kiss on the Lips. As an unknown act, they became the first street performers ever to achieve a chart position, selling more records that week than some internationally well-known artists. With no backing or publicity, the key to this success was The Dualers’ ever-growing, increasingly dedicated fan-base.
Growing up in South London with parents Bill and Jackie Cranstoun, Tyber’s musical taste was heavily influenced by the music played at home. Playing at several locations in and around London in the sixties with his Savoy Sound System, Bill helped to introduce ska music to the capital.
After attending the elite Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Tyber joined his brother singing on the street in the late 1990s. Together, he and Simon built a repertoire of classic ska, reggae and soul songs, receiving a phenomenal response wherever they performed
